Jay S. Yadav, MD

Dr. Yadav is Founder, Chairman and CEO of CardioMEMS, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. CardioMEMS, Inc. is the first company to develop passive, wireless sensors for medical use. He also developed the first emboli protection device, Angioguard, which was purchased by Cordis (JNJ). He was a board member and seed investor of SMART Therapeutics, which developed the first intracranial stent and was acquired by Boston Scientific. He is also Chairman of Icon, Inc. which is developing novel stent technologies. Dr. Yadav is an interventional cardiologist and neurologist who has received international recognition for his pioneering work in carotid stenting. Dr. Yadav is the former Ferchill Distinguished Professor, Director of Vascular Intervention and Chairman of the Innovation Center at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Yadav has authored two books and over two hundred publications and has received numerous honors including the AHA Top Ten Scientific Advances for 2003 and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for 2004. He is a graduate of Yale University, West Virginia University Medical School, and received his clinical training at Duke and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. His clinical affiliation is with the Piedmont Heart Institute, Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta.
