John G. Edwards

Mr. Edwards is founder & CEO of Apeliotus Technologies, a medical device company that develops and commercializes products based on innovations from universities in the Southeast. He has been involved in technology commercialization for more than thirty years at four successful university spin-off companies and a major university research lab. In particular, prior to launching Apeliotus Technologies in 2003, Mr. Edwards was co-founder and CEO of Photonic Sensor, a Georgia Tech spin-off created to commercialize a proprietary optical chip for medical diagnostic and genomic research applications. He has raised over $12 million of venture capital and grant funding, including numerous SBIR/STTR awards. In addition, he is Vice President of the Southeastern Medical Device Association. Mr. Edwards holds SB and SM degrees in physics from MIT and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
