Joe Moran, based in Atlanta, Ga., is senior division vice president for the Fresh Foodservice Division of Pilgrim’s Pride.  One of four strategic business units, the Fresh Foodservice Division represents approximately 30 percent of the company’s $7.6 billion in sales.  The division’s 10 plants employ nearly 10,000 people and produce chicken products for most of the nation’s leading fast food, food service and retail deli operations.   

Moran also headed the foodservice area for ConAgra Poultry prior to its purchase by Pilgrim’s Pride in 2003.  During his 27-year career in the poultry industry, he has held numerous positions including vice president of operations for ConAgra Poultry in Natchitoches, La.; senior vice president of fresh foodservice and sales for Tyson Foods; and complex and plant manager for Holly Farms in several locations.

A native of Virginia, Moran earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.   He and his wife, Kristy, have three daughters, Jennifer, Jessica and Emily.
