Dr. Gregg BeVier is an accomplished senior executive with more than 25 years experience in the global agricultural business. He has successfully managed more than 650 people for the world’s leading Animal Health Company and has also led a large global operation for a swine genetics firm.   Gregg’s background includes livestock genetics, animal health and integrated livestock production operations. He has had a successful career designing winning strategies for leading organizations and has a reputation as an innovative thinker who can see the future. 

Dr. BeVier’s extensive background and experience in global livestock production and as a Board member of a public company have helped him shape leading organizations such as Sygen, PIC, Merial and Premium Standard Farms.  His strategic approach and leadership qualities have synergized these organizations for future success.  Gregg has lived in England and has had global responsibilities for 12 years.  He has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America and has earned the respect of those from different cultures.  More recently, Gregg has been involved in various start-up initiatives including AgGlobalVision, InsectiGen, CuraVive and Body Surface Translations.  He also does international consulting work with various companies and offshore veterinary schools.

Gregg’s leadership skills and multi-faceted background have helped him be a pioneer with organizations with whom he has worked.  He helped to improve the model for the early-chartered farms in standardized pork production.  He was part of a leadership team that constructed a new entity in large integrated pork operation financed by Wall Street.  Dr. BeVier introduced an innovative program that placed graduate veterinarians in the commercial agribusiness sector.  His extensive network of industry leaders generated considerable external funding to support this initiative.  He established the research platforms for a genetic technology company, which led to a number of novel gene marker discoveries.  He helped formulate the winning strategy for the world’s leading animal health company.
                                 
Dr. BeVier holds a B.S. in Agriculture Science, a M.S. in Animal Science, a D.V.M. and a M.B.A., all from the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL.  He has been a lifetime member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and serves on the Dean’s advisory council at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois.  He is licensed to practice veterinary medicine and he recently received the honor of Distinguished Alumnus, from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine.  He also presented the Howard Dunne Memorial Lecture to the American Association of Swine Veterinarians in March of 2006.  He has authored a number of articles in journals and proceedings and has co-authored several book chapters, all related to the area of swine reproductive physiology.
