We are delighted to invite you to join us at the 7th Annual Georgia Life Sciences Summit, scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta.
As in past years, the 2007 Georgia Life Sciences Summit will draw upon the talent and expertise of local, regional and national companies, and nationally and internationally recognized leaders in science, business development, finance, public policy, and state and federal government.
The Summit has become the premier life sciences conference in the Southeast, and this year the scope of the conference will expand under the theme of Growing Georgia's Bioeconomy. The Summit will showcase the most advanced life science research and product development not only in biomedicine, but also in agriculture, food nutrition, bioenergy and industrial production. In a nutshell, the expanded role of the conference reflects the growing impact biotechnology has on our lives and its potential to help even more.
This broader focus will begin to set the stage for the Biotechnology Industry Organization's BIO 2009 Annual International Convention in Atlanta. BIO 2009 will highlight life sciences technologies from across the globe in healthcare, agriculture, industrial and energy production, environmental management, and biodefense. BIO 2009 will give Georgia a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase to the world its collection of life sciences technologies in these same industry sectors.
Among the confirmed 2007 Summit keynote speakers are David M. Mott, President and Chief Executive Officer of MedImmune; Rhona S. Applebaum, Chief Regulatory Officer of The Coca-Cola Company; Gerald A. Steiner, Executive Vice President Commercial Acceptance of Monsanto Corporation; and Howard D. Palefsky, General Partner and Managing Member of Montreux Equity Partners. More than 30 speakers will participate in panel discussions and scientific presentations ranging from biofuels to global healthcare.
We very much hope to meet you at the 2007 Summit. Your participation will build on the success of previous years and contribute to what promises to be a spectacular event in the continued development of life sciences in Georgia.
