Christopher W. Kersey serves as Managing Director of Cogene Ventures where he invests in a broad range of life science and health care investments including biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology platforms, medical devices and health care information technology. Cogene Ventures is the largest life science and health care venture capital fund headquartered in the Southern tier of the United States.

Dr. Kersey’s medical research background focused on molecular biology, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery. Upon completing his medical school training, Dr. Kersey obtained an internal medicine residency position at Harvard Medical School before attending Harvard Business School.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Memorial Hermann Hospital Foundation and is the President of the Houston Private Equity Association.

Dr. Kersey graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology before obtaining a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Emory University School of Medicine and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
