CONFERENCE FOCUS
The focus of HEP DART 2007 is to assemble clinicians, researchers and basic scientists together to advance our knowledge of the ongoing drug development processes in the treatment of hepatitis B and hepatitis C and other viruses affecting the liver, including co-infections with HIV.
HEP DART 2007 will uniquely blend the areas of biology, chemistry, pharmacology and clinical research to provide the scientific community with an increased understanding of the current and future challenges in therapeutics for hepatitis infection.

The Conference is open to anyone interested in therapies for viral hepatitis. However, the content of this Conference was developed to interest primarily scientists and clinical researchers in the infectious diseases.

Accommodation
Accommodations have been reserved at the Westin Maui. To obtain the specially discounted rates that have been negotiated for this Conference, all reservations must be made through the Conference Secretariat. Room type requests cannot be guaranteed and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Accommodation Rates
The Westin Maui is able to offer three (3) options of rooms to suit the needs of the Conference delegates. The rates listed below are for single or double occupancy and include state and local taxes, which are currently 11.416%, and a Discounted Daily Resort charge of $10.00. Such taxes are subject to change without notice.
A two-nights' deposit is required to guarantee the hotel reservation. Accommodation cancellations after October 8, 2007 and on or before October 31, 2007 will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the hotel deposit. Cancellation after October 31, 2007 will result in loss of deposit.

Early Departure Fee
The hotel charges an early departure fee of one night's room and tax for all guests who check out prior to the guest's reserved checkout date. Guests wishing to avoid this fee must advise the Conference Secretariat prior to or at check-in of any change in the scheduled length of stay.
Porterage and Room Attendant Gratuities
Bellman gratuity and room attendant gratuities are at the Guest's discretion. However, for departures that require baggage storage, a charge of $3.25 per person plus tax is applicable.

Scholarship Fund
The Organizing Committee wishes to ensure that all scientists working in the hepatitis field are able to attend this Conference to the benefit of their future research.
Provided funds are obtained, some partial, full, and travel scholarship funds will be created to contribute toward the costs incurred by attending this Conference.
Post-doctoral fellows, nurses, assistant professors, underrepresented minorities, and residents of developing countries are encouraged to apply for these scholarships. Preference will be given to those applicants who are submitting an abstract.
Please send your request for scholarship to the conference secretariat if you wish to apply. You must also provide a letter from your mentor/supervisor indicating your need for a scholarship and a copy of your passport or driver's license.
