Despite great scientific strides over the last 20 years, a cure is not on the horizon and resistance, compliance and safety remain concerns of the HIV/AIDS and hepatitis community. Consequently, the discovery of novel therapies, including immunotherapeutical approaches and combined modalities, remains crucial as individuals continue to develop multi-drug resistance, as well as co-infections with these life-threatening viruses. Independent conferences like Bridging the Sciences 2006: HIV/HBV/HCV Infections and Emerging Viruses give scientists and physicians the opportunity to network with each other and communicate new information on novel regimens at productive and high-quality events. In addition to addressing the critical issues concerning the discovery and clinical development of therapies for HIV infections, hepatitis and emerging viruses, Bridging the Sciences 2006 will provide a forum to exchange opinions with world-renowned faculty. The scientific content will comprise both oral and poster presentations focusing on drug discovery and development; methods used to discover antiviral agents; and criteria to select antiviral agents for clinical development and include topics such as pathophysiology, current therapies, unresolved therapeutic problems, and new drugs in development. We hope that you will participate in Bridging the Sciences 2006: HIV/HBV/HCV Infections and Emerging Viruses, and we look forward to seeing you in Paris. Yves Benhamou Copyright © 2006 Informed
